There is no such thing as a fighting dog breed. They were created by humans

Dogs need time to train. Just because you have a pit bull it does not mean that it will be a problem dog that you have to keep tied in a kennel. With the right training, it can be a great companion. It does not matter if you have a Chihuahua, a golden retriever or a pit bull. What a dog will become, largely depends on upbringing and training.

What are fighting breeds?

Many cynologists agree that there is no such thing as a fighting dog breed. A dog trainer Radoslav Chlup is also inclined to this opinion. Whether a dog will be a pet or a killer depends on how you raise it. On the other hand, it is true that certain breeds are more prone to aggression than others. “OUR DOG is the reflection of us and of our approach,” says Radoslav Chlup. “So, there is NO fighting breed. There is only an approach to a dog that makes a fighting dog.”

When can a cynologist help?

Some owners, despite their best efforts, cannot handle their dogs as they wish. Before you start training your dog you need to learn basic rules of dog training This will help you to get rid of common mistakes and bad habits. Many dog owners are not even aware of these mistakes. If, despite your best efforts, you are unable to train your dog, you should visit a breeder, a dog training centre or the so-called dog coach. Do not see it as your failure, but rather as an effort to improve your relationship with your dog.

How to choose the right dog breed?

Even if we agree that there is no such thing as “fighting breeds” certain dogs are prone to certain behaviour of course and may demand more training and more time. Nevertheless, even if you get a “companion dog” of the Labrador type, it does not mean that your dog will be a sweetheart and will not attack other dogs or people. Each dog is different and has its own personality. If you want to get a dog, choose a breed that suits your purpose and also according to the time you are able to devote to your dog and to training!
