Sauerkraut and oatmeal pancakes
Winter is here again. But in addition to winter fun, it also brings a lot of diseases and that is the time when sauerkraut comes into play as it represents one of many natural ways widely used to fight various illnesses and even the common cold.
Sauerkraut contains a lot of vitamins, such as vitamin C, B, K, E, potassium, iron, zinc, calcium, fibre, amino acids, folic acid, proteins and isothiocyanates (substances that are formed by fermentation and protect the body from cancer). Sauerkraut strengthens the body’s defences, lowers cholesterol, fights depression and stress and cleanses the body thanks to high fibber content, it is very suitable for low-calorie diets and even helps fighting Alzheimer’s disease.
So why don’t you try preparing delicious pancakes from sauerkraut? It only makes sense right?

So, here we go
Briefly boil oatmeal in hot water. Dice the onion into cubes put it on a pan and simmer it for a while. Take a bowl and mix the sauerkraut, boiled oatmeal, cottage cheese, eggs and onion cubes together. Add marjoram, garlic, salt and pepper (based on your taste preferences). Make small patties and fry them in a pan or bake in the oven.
As a side dish, you may use boiled potatoes or just devour them – without anything on the side!
Enjoy!
