Lemon with baking soda kills unpleasant odors
Unpleasant odors coming from your trash bin can be a major nuisance. We all tend to procrastinate and take out the trash when absolutely necessary… Our trash cans contain many perishable items. Warm temperatures only speed up the process. It can take a day or two and the foul smell can penetrate your entire house. Sure, you can buy many different chemicals to eliminate or rather cover the smell, but today we shall show you a simple trick that you can use to reduce the unpleasant smell. All you need is a lemon and baking soda. If you do not believe us, read on.
A very simple solution
To effectively and permanently remove odors you need the following:
- 1 large lemon,
- a small cup of soda,
- half a cup of water,
- half a teaspoon of detergent,
- 10 drops of tea tree oil.
Follow these steps
First, get all the ingredients. Obviously. Now you can prepare an effective and ecological treatment by simply mixing all the ingredients until you get a thick mixture. If it is still rather thin, add more soda and also salt. If the consistency is too thick, add water to the mixture. It should resemble a toothpaste.
How to use the paste
Well, best approach is to take the paste on a sponge and completely clean the trash bin. This will effectively remove all odors and foul smells. Then rinse the trash bin and let it dry. Now you have a clean and disinfected trash bin. Now, form small balls or other “shapes” from the rest of the paste and if your trash bin starts smelling again, drop one or two balls into it. The baking soda will absorb not only the smell, but also the excess moisture and the essential lemon oils will make it smell clean and fresh…
