How to provide sufficient light for better growth

Plants

Suitable lighting is necessary for proper growth of plants. Fruit-bearing plants such as peppers or tomatoes cannot do without sufficient light. If they do not have enough light they will not grow well. On the other hand, you do not need phytolamps or other gadgets that are expensive and sometimes do not deliver the expected results and you spend more money on electric bills. You can provide sufficient lightning by reflecting light, which is almost for free.

Direct light is not necessary

Direct light may burn some plants, and it often happens that certain plants tend to follow direct light even if it is not good for them. Reflected light is the best choice. So how can you redirect light properly? It is quite simple and you only need few things. Aluminium foil and 2 skewers.

Simple procedure done in a few seconds

Take aluminium foil and cut a piece that is larger than the flower pot or container where you have your seedlings. Attach the wooden skewers at both edges to the aluminium foil. The goal is to create a reflective wall of aluminium. Push the skewers into the soil at an angle that redirects light towards the seedlings. You can also use a food foil but you must fold it into multiple layers to make it strong.

Faster growth

Many gardeners who tried this “trick” know that seedlings grow faster and are stronger. The same trick can be used with indoor plants. The light will not burn the plants, as it is not as strong as direct sunlight in summer and the amount of light you direct is not very substantial, but it is enough to help seedlings develop and grow faster.
