How to make the most of turmeric curative effects using natural boosters
Many people compare turmeric (a spice obtained from the rhizome of a plant called Curcuma longa) to saffron. And it’s not just because of its colour. Turmeric also offers a number of health benefits.
Turmeric is a great antioxidant and improves digestion as it fights the large amount of toxins living in our intestines. It is a great cure for unpleasant light food poisoning, often mistaken for intestinal flu (stomach flu). It also strengthens the heart, has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system and cholesterol levels and even treats inflammation.
TIP: These days you may often hear about the positive effect of turmeric on memory. Yes, that is true but it only works if you consume strong rhizome extract. There is a study currently underway using turmeric with Alzheimer’s patients and the initial results are promising but turmeric powder does not offer similar effects.

Turmeric, butter and cayenne pepper
If you want to utilize the most of the therapeutic potential of turmeric, you cannot just add it to your meals sporadically. The amount doesn’t matter that much but the trick is to know what to combine turmeric with.
Remember for example that curcumin (which is the main active ingredient in turmeric) dissolves best in fats so, you need to add butter, oil, whole milk, etc. to your meals. This will also reduce its specific bitter taste (good to know if you use it too much).
Another important companion is pepper. But not the ordinary type, but cayenne pepper because it contains substances that increase the action of curcumin. Cayenne pepper is not actually pepper, but a spice made from ground dried Cayenne peppers (Capsicum annuum L. cv. Cayenne). People are often confused by the word pepper. This is due to a bad translation of the word pepper and the confusion just will not go away.

Golden milk (turmeric milk) will give you all active ingredients
We should definitely mention the popular golden milk. The colour comes from yellow turmeric, which creates a really effective combination. If you suffer from digestive problems, want to strengthen your immunity or simply want to detoxify your body you should definitely use golden milk. Drink it once a day, preferably in the evening. And how can you make a golden milk?
Golden milk ingredients
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric
- half a teaspoon of cinnamon
- pinch of cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 spoon of honey
- 1 glass of milk (can also be vegetable)
Heat all the ingredients except the honey and cook for about two minutes. Allow the milk to cool slightly, sweeten with honey and drink it. The entire procedure should take no more than 10 minutes. Even children can drink golden milk, if they don’t mind the spicy taste (but the milk will soften it a bit). It is a simple and inexpensive way to boost your health prepared from exotic ingredients.
