Bellflowers

The genus Campanula includes about 300 species. A huge number and not all of them are suitable for garden of course, but the selection to choose from is still huge.

It does not really matter where your garden is located, or whether you have a wide bathroom window sill to grow bellflowers. If you bet on the right horse, it will work fine and bellflowers will make you happy.

The most common bellflowers you may see in gardens

Carpathian bellflower (Campanula carpatica) ,

wall bellflower(Campanula portenschlagiana),

thegreat bellflower(Campanula latifolia),
spotted bellflower(Campanula punctata),
Serbian bellflower(Campanula Scharskyana),
clustered bellflower(Campanula glomerata).

If you want to choose a beauty that grows well in a flowerpot, you should go for the Carpathian bellflower. It is an undemanding plant and you should provide a well-drained soil and cooler temperatures during winter (between 5-10 °C), moderate light and adequate watering. If you provide these conditions, it will bloom a lot and throughout the entire season.
