Excellent elixir for seedlings. Prepare it at home
The time for crop sowing is here and now the time is right for tomato seedlings. You see tomato seedlings appearing on many windowsills as everyone wants to have their own home-grown sweet fruits. Well, that is great but it is important to provide ideal conditions for seedlings. Naturally, one of the necessary conditions includes proper nutrition. In the following lines, we shall give you few tips regarding a homemade fertilizer, which you can easily and quickly prepare at home.
Bread and yeast
This homemade fertilizer is not difficult to make and you need only few ingredients that you probably have at home anyway. Here they are:
- 4 litters of water,
- old stale bread,
- yeast, about half of teaspoon,
- a spoonful of sugar.
It is not complicated. Pour 4 litres of water into a 5-liter jar and fill the rest with dried pieces of bread. Add sugar and dried yeast. Let the mixture rest in a warm place for about 3 days. When done, shake the jar and filter the mixture through a strainer. You need to dilute before use. Mix 100 ml of the mixture with 500 ml of water and you’re done.

Great for any seedlings
That is right. Your tomato seedlings should be strong by now, but you may also have peppers and other small plants. You may apply this fertilizer to any seedlings once every 10 days. Using a homemade fertilizer will make your veggies healthier and that is definitely worth it.

Another interesting fertilizer
The first fertilizer is made out of wood ash and it is especially great for cucumbers. Ash contains phosphorus and potassium, which cucumbers need a lot. Boil 3 litres of water and pour it over 1 cup of ash. Let it infuse for 24 hours. The next fertilizer is made out of onion peels. Soak 5 onions in 1 litre of water for 3 days. When done pour this mixture directly on roots.
