How to propagate the money tree
The jade plant or money tree (Crassula ovata) or (Crassula hobbits) are very common plants, because it is believed that they bring good luck and a lot of money. Great, but we assume that this is true only if the plant is thriving, right?
You can propagate these plants rather easily. And you should propagate this plant as we are sure you want to push your lack, right? Or maybe you just want to decorate all windows… Here is a simple method that will help you propagate and decorate.
Propagation
Like most succulents, the money tree may be propagated in two main ways: seeds or cuttings. Propagation by cuttings is faster and more convenient. Take a mature shoot from the end of the crown, but even one large leaf should be enough. Do not plant it immediately. You need to set it aside for a few days and let it dry out slightly. This will minimize the occurrence of diseases that may come from the soil.

You may use charcoal to disinfect the cut wound. Put cuttings in water and let it take root. The first roots should appear quite quickly – within 2-3 weeks. As soon as you are already to plant them, mix a regular substrate with sand, put it in the pot and make a drainage hole at the bottom. Cover the plant with a glass jar for example, but make sure that air flow is not completely restricted. Remove the glass cover for 5-15 minutes every day.
Caring for money tree
All succulents love bright and long-lasting light. The ideal place is southwest or southeast window. In winter, move the plant to a south-facing window and as close as possible to the glass. This is the only way to prevent development of light green and ugly leaves.
And what should the right pot for planting look like? It needs to be wide, low and with drainage holes. The best temperature should range from 18 to 25 degrees Celsius in the summer, and from 15 to 17 degrees Celsius in winter.
