Great orange juice made from frozen oranges
If you ever made your own orange juice at home, you know can tell the huge difference between orange juices sold in supermarkets and homemade juice. Yes, even those that make bold claims such as 100% juice etc. do not come even close. Orange juices sold in stores are usually made from other fruits than oranges, even though they should contain 100% of orange juice. Well, if you want to know what you are getting, you need to make your own orange juice and one option is to use frozen oranges. Yes, you can make an excellent orange juice from frozen oranges. Here is how.
Ingredients
It is pretty easy. All you need is oranges and few things you probably have at home. Here it is:
- 4 oranges,
- 450 g granulated sugar or 350 g honey or another sweetener,
- 9 l of water,
- juice squeezed from one lemon.

Orange juice recipe
First, wash oranges thoroughly and put them in a bowl with hot water. This will get rid of the bitterness. When done, take them out and dry completely. Put dry and clean oranges in your freezer for at least 2 hours. Take them out of the freezer put them in a bowl and pour hot water in to make them softer. When done, cut oranges into quarters and grind them in a meat grinder. You will get an interesting-looking mixture.

Mix with water
Pour 3 litres of chilled water in, but you need to boil the water first. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes and then strain it through a fine sieve. This will remove solid pieces from the juice. Now, add all ingredients listed at the beginning and add 6 litres of water into the strained juice. Mix everything thoroughly and pour into containers. Juice should rest in containers for about an hour.
